Charlie Newlands in a nutshell
I’m a slightly confused Irish-Scottish blend, born in Kettering, England, but brought up in Thurso, Scotland.
After leaving school in the mid-eighties I drifted about in Glasgow, then moved to Bristol and stayed there for thirteen years. I wrote and sang songs in a few unheard of indie bands in the mid-nineties.
After a couple of lost years I graduated with a BA Honours in Philosophy and my outlook on life changed forever.
I’m now living with my amazingly fantastic wife and three kids in deepest darkest Cornwall working as a writer of dark humour and mind-bending tales of woe.
